Electrical safety training courses include the affects of electricity, electrical hazards, and arc flash training as found in NFPA 70E.

This course is taught by a Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) and is developed per ANSI Z490.1 standards.  It takes an average of 6 hours to complete and includes arc flash NFPA 70E version 2024.  This training satisfies 29CFR1910.332.

Frequency of training
OSHA doesn’t specify (other than to train), but NFPA 70E states at least every three years unless:

  • Supervision or annual inspections indicate the need for retraining
  • New technology, new equipment or procedure changes occur
  • Work practices not normally used during regular job duties are needed
  • Task performed less than once per year shall require retraining
  • Job duties change

  • Shocks, Arc Flashes, and Arc Blasts
  • NFPA 70E includes, but not limited to:
    • Test Instruments
    • Electrical Safety Programs
    • Normal Operating Conditions
    • Arc Flash Boundaries
    • Shock Boundaries
